Hiking – the 40 km Baden Powell Trail begins in Deep Cove and finishes at Horseshoe Bay, North Vancouver. The Grouse Grind – an arduous uphill cardiac challenge on Grouse Mountain. Miles of hiking trails with maps available and guidance from your hosts or local hiking clubs.
Canoe, Kayak & Boating – The sheltered waters of the Burrard Inlet provide calm ocean paddling amongst steep mountains and numerous islands. Most of Indian Arm is a protected marine park with little to no housing or development for 17 km from Deep Cove to the Wigwam Inn at it’s end. Boat tours of Indian Arm can be arranged.
Skiing and Boarding – (November – April) just minutes away, three local ski resorts – Mount Seymour, Grouse and Cypress (Nordic skiing as well) – a 90 minute drive along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway brings you to Whistler Village and the world class ski resort of Whistler, BC – host site of the 2010 Winter Olympics
Golfing – Two regulation length 18 hole golf courses in the immediate neighbourhood with many, many more in the Vancouver lower mainland. Northlands Golf Course (open to the public and reservations recommended) 5minutes away and Seymour Golf and Country Club (private with public play Mondays and Fridays). 90 minute drive along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway to Nicholas North, Chateau Whistler and Whistler Golf Courses.
